Motorcycle Rental FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking your ride through the Carpathians.

Booking & Payments

How do I book a motorcycle?

From our website, select the motorcycle you want and contact us directly through the enquiry form with your dates — we'll reply within a few hours with details and confirmation of availability. You can also reach us by WhatsApp or email; both are on our Contact page.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) for both the rental payment and the security deposit, and we can send a payment link for the rental. Visa and Mastercard debit cards are also accepted. For the security deposit, we cannot accept providers such as Revolut.

How does the security deposit work?

When you pick up the motorcycle, a deposit of €1,000 is pre-authorized on your credit or debit card. We don't take cash for deposits. At drop-off, once the motorcycle is checked and in good condition, the hold is released.

What's your cancellation policy?

30 days or more before your start date: full refund. Between 14 and 30 days: 50% of the rental fee refunded. Between 7 and 14 days: 25% refunded. Fewer than 7 days before, or a no-show: no refund.

Are there any hidden fees?

No — our pricing is clear and transparent. What you see is what you pay. Quotes already include VAT, and there are no mileage limits on our motorcycles.

Do you offer discounts for longer rentals?

Yes — our pricing has up to 20% savings built in for longer rentals. If you're a larger group, contact us directly and we may be able to offer a better deal.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Yes, there is a 2-day minimum rental period on all of our motorcycles.

License & Documents

What documents do I need to rent a motorcycle?

You'll need a Category A or A2 licence (matching the motorcycle's category) held for at least 2 years. Please provide a copy of your ID or passport and your driving licence. Depending on your country of origin you may also need an International Driving Permit (IDP) — please check the rules that apply to your situation, and if one is required, send us a copy of that too.

Can I rent a motorcycle with an A2 licence?

Yes — the KTM 390 Adventure and the CF Moto 450MT are both fully A2-compliant, so you can rent either on an A2 licence. The usual conditions still apply: minimum age 21, and the licence held for at least 2 years.

What are the age requirements?

The minimum age is 21 for all classes of motorcycle.

Can a second rider use the same rental?

By default, no — the renter is the sole person responsible for the motorcycle. If needed, we can add a second rider to the rental, provided they meet all the same criteria. Please let us know in advance if someone else will be riding.

Insurance & Coverage

What does insurance cover?

All of our motorcycles carry valid third-party liability insurance (RCA), which is mandatory across Romania. Note that this does not cover damage to the rented motorcycle itself — that is handled through your security deposit.

Can I ride into neighbouring countries?

If you'd like to cross into a neighbouring country, check with us ahead of time and wait for our written confirmation — please request this at least 7 days in advance.

What happens if the motorcycle gets damaged?

First, make sure you're okay — rider safety always comes first. Then document the incident with photos and videos and call us on WhatsApp as soon as possible. As long as the riding was within the rules and the bike's limits, your security deposit will most likely cover it. We're off-road riders ourselves, so small scratches on a hand guard or crash bar are not a problem.

Is theft covered?

Report any theft to the police immediately and send us the report within 24 hours. If the motorcycle was properly secured, your liability is limited to the security deposit. If the loss resulted from failing to secure it — for example leaving the keys in the ignition — you are liable for the full replacement value.

What if I have a puncture?

At pickup we can provide a tyre repair kit for tubeless wheels — most of our motorcycles have this type of tyre, and it'll get you out of trouble most of the time. The kit is free of charge; we just ask that you return it with the motorcycle. Every bike also comes with an under-seat tool kit.

The Bikes

What motorcycles are available?

We offer a range of adventure bikes from light to mid-weight. Machines like the CFMOTO 450MT and 800MT-X are some of our favourites for tackling Romania's wild terrain. See our Motorcycles page for the full lineup with specs and pricing.

What accessories are included?

Every rental comes adequately equipped for your next adventure. On top of protection, every bike has a vibration-damping phone mount and USB charging.

Do you provide luggage?

Yes — you can rent several types of luggage. We recommend a soft duffle bag, but top-case options are also available depending on the motorcycle you choose.

Do you provide riding gear?

Yes — we can provide helmets, adventure jackets, gloves and rain suits.

Are there mileage limits?

Short answer: no. Long answer: also no. Enjoy yourself and have fun, without stressing about going a few kilometres over a limit.

What's the fuel and cleaning policy?

Every motorcycle leaves our headquarters with a full tank of fuel and in clean condition. Please return it the same way to avoid any extra service charges.

Can I extend my rental?

Yes, though it can't be guaranteed. As soon as you know more, contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate changes to your plans.

What condition are the bikes in?

Every motorcycle is fully serviced and in top condition — no broken levers, no hidden defects. We use a thorough checklist to inspect and service each bike, ensuring the best experience out in the wild. Even so, if something does happen, we'll do our best to offer a replacement or, worst case, a refund.

How are the motorcycles set up?

Before you set off, we make sure the levers and controls are set up correctly, so you're comfortable from the start. Seat options are available on our most popular bikes — a taller Rally seat for the CF Moto 450MT and a shorter, heated seat for the 800MT-X.

On The Road

Where do I pick up and return the motorcycle?

You can pick up your rental at our office in Cluj-Napoca — the exact location is on our Contact page. It's easily reached by taxi, ride-sharing (Uber, Bolt), or bus.

Do you provide GPX tracks?

Yes — curated GPX routes and a day-by-day roadbook are included in our self-guided tour packages. Tell us how many days you have and your riding level, and we'll match you with the right route through the Carpathians.

Can I ride off-road?

Short answer: yes! We're all off-road riders, and we know most adventures start where the pavement ends. Stick to legal routes and trails that are clearly within the rented motorcycle's scope, but feel free to get some mud on the bike — neither we nor the bikes will mind.

What happens if the motorcycle breaks down?

If you have a mechanical problem that isn't your fault, contact us immediately with your location and don't arrange any repairs yourself. We'll organise a repair or a replacement motorcycle as soon as we can, or refund the unused days if we're unable to. Costs from breakdowns caused by misuse or skipped daily checks are the rider's responsibility.

What are road conditions like in Romania?

Main national and European routes (DN/E roads) are generally in good condition. Mountain passes like the Transfăgărășan and Transalpina are well-paved but narrow, with tight switchbacks. Secondary roads in rural areas can include gravel and unpaved sections. Ride to the conditions and you'll be rewarded with some of the best roads in Europe.

Is it safe to ride in Romania?

Romania is a fantastic place to ride, with low traffic outside the cities and spectacular scenery. Watch for livestock on rural roads, occasional aggressive overtaking on two-lane roads, and poorly marked roadworks. Ride defensively, especially at dusk.

When is the best season to ride in Romania?

May through October offers the best riding. The high passes (Transfăgărășan, Transalpina) usually open in late June and close in late October depending on snowfall. June and September are the sweet spot — warm, dry, and quieter. July and August are the busiest months on the popular routes.
